Windows 8 Logo

Windows 8 looks dramatically different, including the new logo.

Statistically, only 47% of you are running Windows 7, but Microsoft has started to release preview versions of Windows 8 as of earlier today. It’s set to release for real later this year, but they don’t have much of a track record of delivering on time.

My initial impression: they’re taking a big step towards acknowledging that everyone isn’t using a traditional screen and mouse. It accounts for touch screens and swipe events. The desktop is still there, but a bit less obvious. In the coming days, ROC IT Out will be playing with Windows 8. Keep an eye on www.rocitout.com/roc-it-out-blog/ as we reveal our findings.
